Word on the street is that they have been granted patent for “avoid ghetto” functionality for pedestrian routes (aka… hoofin thru’ the hood)…
I suspect driving applies as well…

There are few things more awesome than being stuck in traffic in Chicago… saying “screw it” getting off the expressway on a previously untraveled exit and letting GPS sort it out…
Hopefully there’s a way to turn the feature off – as I feel like I’ll be on a windows phone this time next year…
